Template build for the re-launch of the 'Womens fashion' section of the site.
The Laura Ashley site is a good example of a company who are aware of the need for site accessibility whithout the need to compromise on aethetic appeal. The site while visually appealing is built in a traditional 'letterbox' framed style, leaving it ripe for development in the recent accessibility aware climate. Where as many may choose to hold off until a site wide re-vamp is possible, Laura Ashley took the decision to roll-out the update starting with this one section.
The extrememly talented creatives at Wheel who have been working with Laura Ashley for some time developed a layout compatible with accessible standards, whilst in keeping with the existing site layout. A set of templates were then developed to AAA accessible standards, and delivered ahead of schedule to the third party responsible for their implementation.
The collaberation of a number of parties on this project demonstrates the facilitation that the use of CSS and accessible standards can bring to a project. By separating content from layout it is even simpler for development and design teams to work together.
