Role: Lead Designer & Frontend Engineer
Project Overview
Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, a prominent provider of financial and business publications and data services, lacked a cohesive online presence. The existing website, reminiscent of the early 2000s, created confusion about the company's identity. The executive directors tasked our team with developing a narrative-driven corporate website to clarify who we were and what we offered.
Strategic Approach
The project posed several challenges:
- Outdated Web Presence: The existing site was not reflective of the company's current stature and offerings.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Engaging various stakeholders to ensure the website met diverse expectations.
- Resource Constraints: Operating within a limited budget and timeframe.
To address these challenges, we:
- Conducted Stakeholder Interviews: Engaged with key stakeholders to understand their perspectives and expectations.
- Developed a Narrative-Driven Design: Focused on telling the company's story through its history, people, and values.
- Optimised for Legacy Systems: Worked with the technical team to ensure the design was compatible with the existing CMS.
Implementation & Deliverables
Key deliverables included:
- A responsive website that aligned with the company's brand and narrative.
- Content that highlighted the company's history, values, and people.
- Integration with the existing CMS to ensure seamless content management.
Outcome
The revamped website significantly improved the company's online presence, leading to positive feedback from stakeholders, increased visibility, and enhanced recruitment efforts. However, subsequent budget constraints led to the removal of some narrative elements, demonstrating the challenges of maintaining a balance between design vision and resource limitations.
