One of Europe’s largest providers of financial & business publications and data services, Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC never had a cohesive online presence. A storefront straight from the early 2000’s for published material across it’s various businesses led to confusion as to who and what they were.
Myself and my team were tasked by the executive directors to redress this balance and produce a narrative we could deliver to our clients, shareholders, potential investors and new talent in an effort to tell them who and what we were.
Having been established in 1969, there was a lot of history to tell and as is to be expected more than a few stakeholders to consult.
We were fortunate to work with senior stakeholders keen to embrace a transparent and very agile design process with regular review points, allowing us to overcome significant hurdles such as several budget cuts to produce an intial MVP focused on the requirements of the brief.
Starting with just a logo and primary brand colour we worked with our stakeholders to establish the narrative, delving into the archives for old material and original issues to build a brand identity. Briefed to deliver a professional experience, we let the story tell itself through a narrative led design, focusing on our history and our people, bringing their words into context where they could put a human face to the business.
At the same time we worked with the wider technical team to begin the evolution of an antequated front-end framework into something more suited to our needs and scalable for our core content delivery platform.
A marked and timely improvement in visibility, with positive feedback from all stakeholders, most notably around new investment and from new hires.
NB: Recently much of the initial homepage narrative has been removed due in part to budget enforced technical decisions.
Excellent performance all round. Fully understood the brief and turned into actionable ideas. Was effective in incorporating further feedback. Final result was spot on target. Well done (Alfonso Marone - Innovations Officer @ Euromoney PLC)
